Coronavirus Wednesday update: 690 new cases and six more Minnesota deaths

Minnesota added 690 new coronavirus infections and six more fatalities Wednesday, according to the state Department of Health.

The state’s death toll is now 1,985 with another 52 deaths suspected to have been caused by COVID-19, but the patient never had a positive coronavirus test. Those whose deaths were reported Wednesday ranged in age from their 60s to more than 100.

Minnesota has 92,100 laboratory-confirmed coronavirus infections. Of those, 83,507 have recovered enough they no longer need to be isolated.

There are 303 patients hospitalized with 148 in critical condition. An estimated 6,305 patients with active infections are recovering from the virus at home.
