The death toll in Minnesota from COVID-19 is up to 1,965, with two additional deaths reported Sunday, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

The Health Department reported another 1,318 confirmed coronavirus infections, taking Minnesota’s total cases to 90,017. The actual number of infections likely is much higher as the data only represents those who have been tested for the virus, state officials say.

Sunday’s reported deaths consisted of: an individual between 65 and 60 and an individual between 90 and 94. The deaths were in Hennepin and St. Louis counties. One of the two was from a long-term care or assisted-living facility.

Of the state’s 1,965 total deaths, 1,423 were long-term care or assisted living center residents.

HOW ARE PATIENTS DOING?

There were 81,336 patients as of Sunday who have recovered to the point where they no longer need to be isolated.

A total of 7,163 patients with COVID-19 have been hospitalized in Minnesota, with 248 hospitalized as of Sunday, seven more than the day before. Of those patients, 123 are in intensive care, down 11 from Saturday’s report.

The age group with the most infections remains 20-24-year-olds with 12,362 cases.
The age group with the most deaths are 85-89-year-olds with 335 deaths.
