After almost two months of revamping the place, Jameson’s Irish Bar in the former Cherokee Sirloin Room in West St. Paul is now up and running. The Rubenzer family purchased the restaurant, in operation since 1933, in July 2017. The pandemic gave the family some time to reimagine the place, and they’ve spent the last few weeks revamping the concept and giving the space a remodel.

The space includes Jameson’s Irish Bar and the Bella Room, available for private events. “A passion that I’ve always had was collecting salt and pepper shakers and you will see those throughout the restaurant. We also discovered many relics in the basement including original paintings for the old Cherokee Tavern,” said owner/executive chef  Brian Rubenzer in a news release. Reubens, bangers and mash, and fish and chips as well as things like burgers, walleye sandwiches and mac and cheese variations are all part of the lineup. 886 Smith Ave. S., West St. Paul; 651-457-2729; facebook.com/Jamesonsirishbar
