We provide treatment and assessment services that are grounded in science and tailored to the unique characteristics of each individual. The UNC Clinical Psychology program is accredited by the American Psychological Association and the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System. In Manitoba, practicing registered psychologists must be registered with the Psychological Association of Manitoba. Clinical associates with Clinic Psychology Manitoba have a Master’s degree in psychology or school psychology, and work with the consultation and supervision of registered psychologists with our practice. Supervision is provided weekly in teams consisting of one supervisor and three students, with a mix of beginning and advanced students. As members of practicum teams and research teams, new students also reap the benefits of working closely with more advanced students as they conceptualize cases, enhance and refine their assessment skills, design theses and dissertations, and prepare papers for conference presentations and journal review. If a patient requests to receive an assessment report or other records electronically, the Psychology Clinic will send such materials using an encrypted e-mail mechanism, which will require additional steps by the patient to open the e-mail. All e-mail correspondence with the Psychology Clinic must be done through the general clinic e-mail address (link is available in the Contact Us box to the left). Should you still wish to file a grievance with the clinic, it must be in writing, contain your name and address, and describe in detail the problem. The Psychology Clinic is an on site, outpatient mental health clinic, operated by the Clinical Psychology Program. Services are provided by graduate students in our highly ranked clinical psychology doctoral program and on a limited basis by Licensed Psychologists, postdoctoral fellows, and social work graduate students. Drug testing will be done on a random basis. Because many of our graduates will seek applied, direct service positions, we take seriously the role of training competent clinicians. The doctoral program in clinical psychology at the University of Arkansas is consistent with the Standards of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology. All students in the program are trained to meet competencies for discipline-specific knowledge as well as profession-wide competencies. Our doctoral clinical training program is a recipient of a federal Graduate Psychology Education (GPE) grant from United States Department of Health & Human Services (Health Resource Service Administration), from 2016-2019. This 3-year training grant was designed to increase the number of behavioral health care providers who serve low-income, rural, Hispanic or Marshallese residents in Northwest Arkansas (Click here for more information).
