Dominique D’angelo Taylor, 20, is being charged with committing a crime for the benefit of a gang, participating in a drive-by shooting and second-degree assault, according to charges filed Wednesday in Ramsey County District Court.

On June 21 at about 3:13 p.m. St. Paul police responded to Sana’s Market at 1541 Maryland Avenue East on reports of shots being fired, the charges said. A person in a 2005 green Chevy Tahoe was seen shooting at the market. The vehicle then stopped less than a block away and four men ran from it.

One man later identified as Terrance Octavious Hobson, 21, returned to the Tahoe and drove away, according to the complaint. Hobson was taken into custody and later charged with aiding and abetting a drive-by shooting and second-degree assault.

Police reviewed surveillance footage from Sana’s Market and saw the Tahoe drive past the market twice. During the second time, shots appeared to come from the driver’s window, the charges said.

In the footage it appears that the shots are coming from the front passenger, according to the complaint, who was later identified as Taylor.  According to the complaint, Taylor is a member of the JMB “Just My Brothers” 2000 gang. Taylor also has a pending second-degree manslaughter charge for fatally shooting a 25-year-old woman in July.
