High school football and volleyball will indeed be played this fall in Minnesota.
The Minnesota State High School League board of directors voted Monday to immediately reverse course on its decision made last month to move the two seasons to this spring.
Football and volleyball seasons can start with practices on Sept. 28. The volleyball season is slated to span 11 weeks, while the football season is expected to be completed by Nov. 28 — featuring a six-week regular season to begin Oct. 9-10, with two weeks available at the end of the season for regional/sectional competition.
The exact postseason setups for both sports are still up in the air and will be ironed out later.
